Hello world, greetings.  I'm fully functional again with my keyboard.  I've actually recieved it last Friday, but I'm lazy like a fox and hadn't updated.  I feel like I have a whole new computer under my fingertips, it's quite satisfying.  Pacman beware, your high score will not stand!

Now for a gear geek rant.  I made a new headphone purchase yesterday as indicated.  I've never actually demoed these particular cans, but based on the similarities to Lyss' pair, I think I'll be satisfied.  I was exchanging messages with my old band member Wade the other day; we were discussing the prospect of exchanging home recordings.  I don't know how easily it'd could be done, but it did get my mind thinking about making my own home recordings again.  I'm rather focused on an Mbox II, and those headphones would come in handy for bedroom recitals.  Either way the phones would be handy for scrutinizing my favorite albums.

As to favorite albums, be prepared for the annual Top 10 Albums of 2007 list.  Delivery date is set for January 31.  This was last years list.  It was the compiled and ranked list of over a dozen contributors.  If you want to throw your top 10 list in, let me know.  You have time yet left!

Oh.  One of my co-workers told me that she had a dream about me.  Apparently my pregnant wife (fictional if you didn't know) and I were visiting her house.  I guess I rubbed her husband (nonfictional) the wrong way, and he didn't want Tonya (coworker) and I to be friends.

Interesting. What can I say other than I'm a likable guy I guess except to husbands?  Truthfully though, if she could just describe what my wife looked like, it would save me a lot of trouble in the whole dating scene.

Okay, that's a enough rumble for now.

  •     It's way too cold outside for Texas weather.  I prefer my Austin toasty, not frozen.  Really though, it's a good thing that it's unpleasant outside.  It makes me study more.  I've dug into the organic today and I'm not too terrified.  Just having to review it over.   The nice thing about studying quite frequently is that it gives me some time to really listen to some music.  Today I have been listening to Elliott Smith.  Gosh, I really love some of his stuff.  I just bought From a Basement on the Hill on Black Friday.  Waterloo had all vinyl 20% off which was nice.  He was quite the talent.

Black Friday was extremely boring to me.  I went to a couple of stores and besides the vinyl, I bought Labyrinth on DVD for 4 bucks.  Ah, vintage Bowie!  Which reminds me of this excellent show...

Either you get it or you don't.

  •     I've set the date for the OAT - December 10th, 2007.  That's really not too far away, and I'm a little nervous still.  I think I know a bit more of what to expect so it shouldn't be that bad.  This Thanksgiving break will be spent studying for the test.  So be thankful for your freet ime, while I shan't have it.  I thought about going home, but since I'll be back at Christmas, there was really no point.  I think Christiaan and I are spending Thanksgiving at the Alamo Drafthouse.

Tomorrow I'm finally selling my trailer.  I've had so many Craig's List people flake out on me.  I know of 3 different supposed buyers and all 3 just stopped answering their email/phones.   The newest purchaser seems legit, but if I disappear tomorrow it's just probably because he beat me and tossed me in an abandoned well.

Last week I had something neat happen.  I was heading over to the ever so delicious Jimmy John's to satisfy my Beach Club craving when I walked past a debit card in the dirt.  I picked it up, looked around and didn't see anyone near by.  I stuck it in my pocket.  Once I got home I did some sleuthing and lo and behold I had a hit on facebook!  His name Matthew as well.   I sent this:

    Me:

    "Hello fellow namesake,

I was walking over to Jimmy Johns today and found what I believe is your Bank of America debit card. I goggled your name and facebook-ed you, and thus this email emerges. Don't worry, I'm not going to use your card. You want it back or do you want me to shred it?

    Matt"

    Him:

"You are a good person. And the fact that we're doing this via facebook is also pretty funny/cool. If you can get it in the mail today, send it to me at [edit]. Otherwise, I'm leaving town on Wednesday afternoon and could very easily meet you at a preferred location and time between now and then. My phone number is [edit] and my e-mail (best electronic form of getting ahold of me) is [edit]@hotmail.com. Seriously man, thank you. I was going to cancel it today but this saves me a hassle and re-assures me that there are good, honest people out there."

So neat!  : )   I just mailed it back to him after I did some extensive online shopping for Christmas....just kidding.  We're now facebook friends.
